Satsang: Earth Day Community Action
Taking concrete action together in our communities can give us hope, purpose and connection. Please join us for a beautifying walk through our neighborhood. Afterward, we will gather at the Integral Yoga Institute for a deep relaxation practice followed by a nurturing vegetarian meal.
Practical Spirituality & Current Climate Emergence
In this special online workshop, we will be holding a space for each other to tune in more deeply to the natural wisdom of life. By accessing this guidance, we become increasingly aware of what obstacles we might be facing and how, with self care and mutual support, we can grow stronger as we face the challenges of our times. As we listen to each other, we will honor the collective wisdom that we share and see what forms of action are calling to us.
Volunteer in SF Parks Indigenous Plant Nursery
Come join us at the Sutro Native Plant Nursery for conservation projects such as habitat restoration or nursery activities. Climate Emergency: What can we do now
We are witnessing numerous world crises unfold right before our eyes, from disastrous climate events, to food and water shortages, to unheard of political and economic polarization. Can we separate our personal spiritual growth from our participation in the world community? Join us for this program to analyze together the impact of our personal choices and learn about specific steps we can take now to make a difference. By taking personal responsibility now, we can together help alleviate much suffering and experience the peace that comes from compassionate action.
Any questions, just let us know!

Claudia Bartsch – Originally from Germany, Claudia Bartsch is a yoga teacher and therapist living in San Francisco. She is passionate about supporting individuals to find healing through aligning themselves with their deepest values.

Today she combines both paths: Supporting herself and others to develop the capacity to live in peace with each other and the planet but also engaging in meaningful political action.
Besides in her yoga practice she finds strength and contentment by spending time in nature, especially in forests.

BEYOND THE BOOK GROUP: HOW TO BE AN EFFECTIVE ALLY AND ADVOCATE FOR RACIAL JUSTICE (session 1 of 4)
Beyond the Book Group:
How To Be An Effective Ally & Advocate For Racial Justice
A Four-Session Series:
Tuesdays, Nov. 17-Dec. 8, 3:00 PM - 4:15 PM PT
Hosted by Attuned Living
With Itzel Hayward (click here for bio)
and Kathy Simon (click here for bio)
About the four-session series:
Oppression of people of color is embedded in social systems, not just in the behavior of individuals. The racial justice movement needs allies and advocates to confront and transform these systems as they play out in policies in education, politics, policing, corporations, and more.
In the day to day, allies and advocates are also called upon to address harmful behavior of individuals who are blatantly racist or who are upholding racist ideas—including family members, old friends, and co-workers.
Using practices and insights based in Nonviolent Communication, in this four-session series, we’ll talk about the need to challenge racist words and ideas in everyday life, and how it can be done in a way that’s most likely to encourage individuals to change—or at least have openness to looking at their beliefs and behavior.
The four-session series curriculum includes:
Tues., Nov. 17, 3:00 PM - 4:15 PM PT
Skills for speaking about race and racism in ways that people who disagree with you can hear
Tues., Nov. 24, 3:00 PM - 4:15 PM PT
Skills for listening—even when people say things that are hard to hear
Tues., Dec. 1, 3:00 PM - 4:15 PM PT
Our inner worlds: skills for holding our own reactions with acceptance
Tues., Dec. 8, 3:00 PM - 4:15 PM PT
Putting it all together: showing up in ways that transform the conversation
Cost: $80-$180 sliding scale (no one turned away for lack of funds)

It becomes more evident every day that the times of non-participation in our society have come and gone. Many people, and the planet, are making it clear in more and more blatant ways that they have had enough. With the upcoming election, let us set up a spiritual foundation through a community practice so that we can move through this time with resilience, clarity and our hearts connected to what’s most important to us and the bigger-picture
Questions we will explore:
What is our role as spiritual people in engaging with these political systems?
How do we find the balance of personal security and wellness, taking care of our loved ones, contributing to our community, living our purpose?
What can I be doing so I can look at this time with no regrets, and go to bed at night knowing that I have done my part?
The teachings of “right action” and “karma yoga” show us that through aligning our soul with the actions we take, we can find meaning, purpose and balance in this complex world. In this interactive gathering, we will each have the opportunity to explore how powerful principles of political engagement from a spiritual foundation can take form in our own lives.
